Healthy diet during pregnancy

Every woman wants to give a birth to a healthy baby, that’s why she should follow all rules prescribed by the doctor. One of the most important factors influencing baby development is the nutrition during pregnancy.
It’s just the right time now to forget about difficult stressful days when there was no time to have proper dinner and when you probably had to eat harmful junk food. Now you’re two and you should care of your baby. Bear in mind that necessary minerals and vitamins won’t do any harm. This article will serve you as a so called guide to your diet during each phase of such an important period.
First trimester diet: this is the time when pregnancy symptoms declare themselves greatly. Everybody knows about unpleasant sickness, that’s why it would be better to eat smaller portions. Don’t forget to avoid any kind of alcohol; otherwise it’ll affect your baby. The consumption of large amount of water is wholesome. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables (especially green) and take dairy products (not too fatty); they include a lot of useful substances. It’s also suggested to consume products containing iron, such as eggs, liver and cereals. It’s known that there’s a great variety of vitamins in drugstores, but never take them until you consult your doctor.
Second trimester diet: this is the time when your body begins to change. You should increase your portions. Continue eating food which includes iron. Pay attention to citrus fruits, as vitamin C increases the process of iron absorption.
Third trimester diet: you should consume large amounts of calcium - it will strengthen your baby’s bones (Dairy products is the main source of calcium. Soya and beans also contain it). Calcium also promotes milk appearing for the period of breast-feeding. To decrease heartburn it’s necessary to change your meals to smaller ones. Go on drinking much water.
Postnatal diet: It’s also important to keep eating healthy food during the lactation. Go on consuming vegetables and fruits; add nuts and seeds to your diet.
Remember, that it’s always better to consult your healthcare expert whether this or that product will make a helpful contribution.
